U.S. cable network WE tv is putting a hip hop spin on its latest installment of Marriage Boot Camp.

Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition will feature famous couples selected from hip hop royalty, including cast members of VH1′s Love & Hip Hop.

The series follows five couples as they undergo counselling and decide whether it’s all worth it. Featured couples will include Soulja Boy and Nia Riley; Waka Flocka (pictured, left) and wife Tammy Rivera (right), Lil’ Mo and her husband, boxer Karl Dargan; Jessica Dime and her fiancé, professional basketball player Shawne Williams; and Lil’ Fizz of B2K and Tiffany Campbell.

Relationship counsellors Dr. Venus Nicolino and Dr. Ish Major and Divorce Court judge Lynn Toler will work with the couples.

Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition is produced for WE tv by Thinkfactory Media, an ITV America company. Adam ReedAdam Freeman, Erin Richards, Antonia Mattia and Leslie Greif serve as EPs, with Lauren P. Gellert and Angela Molloy executive producing for WE tv.

“After successfully expanding Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars franchise with our Family Edition, we’re excited to broaden this universe even further, giving our favorite hip hop stars a chance to ‘face the music’ when it comes to their fractured relationships,” said Marc Juris, president of WE tv, in a statement. “When confronted with the reality of the intensive Marriage Boot Camp process, we will see if these celebrity couples are permanently out of tune or if they can get back on the right track.”

“In extending the Marriage Boot Camp franchise with WE tv, part of our mission as producers is to uniquely design each program around the various personalities, relationships and struggles being featured,” added Freeman, Thinkfactory’s EVP of creative affairs. “The new series has been tailor-made to address the challenges specific to these hip hop stars, as they’ll encounter new obstacles and enter situations fans have never seen them in before.”

Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition premieres Jan. 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on WE tv.
